Teaching, Mentoring, and Making Things Happen

Lecturer

I taught business communications at San José State University for 12 years. My favorite part was creating a classroom where students could experiment, find their voice, and build confidence.

SVIC Director

I led the Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge, connecting students with industry leaders and giving them a place to test ideas, pitch, build, and discover what they were capable of.

Design and Marketing

Word got out. Soon campus leaders were asking me to help with projects beyond the classroom. It was a fun opportunity to bring my corporate experience in strategy, design, and marketing to everything from social media to marketing collateral.

My academic work has always been about helping students find their voice, build confidence, and connect what they learn in the classroom to the real world.

Investing in Tomorrow

My commitment to SJSU runs deep. I see myself in my students, and I want them to have the encouragement, connections, and opportunities I didn’t always have. If you’re looking for a place to give back, I can think of few better investments than SJSU and the students who will shape our future.

“Two things happened in Professor Lo's class that I didn't think were possible: I looked forward to a Friday morning class during my final months of college, and more importantly, each assignment developed a transferable skill I've been able to apply throughout my post-collegiate career. Over the past two years as an account executive at Indeed.com, I've been promoted, received three raises, and am currently on track to become a sales director within the next few quarters. Her class gave me the confidence to go out into the world and feel like nothing was out of reach as long as I was prepared. From interview and email etiquette to hand shakes and presentation skills, her class gives students a clear edge in the workplace.”
